The sinking of the titanic will hit 100 in 2012. The exact same route is set to be covered in a trans-Atlantic cruise.
The cruise is supposed to depart on the same day as the original vessal which of course was the 8th April. It is also leaving from the exact same port as the original which of course is Southampton. The ship will also stop in Ireland just like the Titanic did.
The new vessal is set to make a stop at 11.40 where the Titanic first hit the iceburg. It is unlikely the ship will leave the area until 2am.20am which was when the ship was fully under water.
During these hours the ship will actually have a memorial service to remember the awful accident that occured here. There will also be lectures on board as well as food and music from the era.
The ship is going to have a lot of cabins to contain 1,350 passengers as well as 150 crew members. The prices start at around $3,900 which although sounding expensive could be the perfect gift for a history lover. This is truly going to be the luxury cruise of a life time.
It could be that you are a fan of the film in which you are still likely to be interested in this as a lot of the film was based on the historic event even though the main Rose and Jack were fictional.
Of course most of the cheaper cabins for the price above have already sold out so perhaps if you are interested in taking a cruise you should think about taking another cruise like one of those Rhine River Cruises or perhaps Silversea cruises would be a better move to make.
