Staying awake on my last flight!

My name is James, and it’s been quite a while since I had been on a plane. It was a really long time ago that I last passed out, more than a decade. It was pretty clear to me that something was wrong, yet I didn’t feel or think that I was scared of flying, it just happened. Going back on to a plane was very low on my priority list, and decided to stay at home for holidays in future, may sound sad, but obviously it wasn’t in the house. About 2 years into my marriage, it was time to face my fears and get on a plane, all that way to Egypt, a massive mission!

All I could do was remember moments of when i was on the plane and then waking up at the arrival desk… Something else I better tell you as well, this also happened on the previous return flight as well¦ So I may have started to panic a little bit, even though I didn’t know what I was panicking about! So there was the plane, choices had to be made, and the choice to turn around and run wasn’t there. At the beginning everything seemed fine, I had a steady heart rate, and I wasn’t sweating at all, things just seemed to be going very well. Even after the four massive engines under the wings started going and we approached the run way i was fine!

This was all strange, I couldn’t understand why I passed out the previous time, and before I knew it, we were in the air. At this time though, the holiday seemed like a really exciting experience. I was really looking forward to getting to Egypt, and then jumping back on the plane. Things just had to go wrong didn’t they! Across the loud speakers, the Captain could be heard announcing that some heavy turbulence was heading our way. OK I braced myself, and it was really rocking and shaking from side to side, I was really scared, and there was even a storm outside, things couldn’t have looked much worse. Then It was over, as quick as it had started it had finished. I remember thinking to myself, why don’t you faint now you plonker!

Egypt holidays turned out to be something I never returned to, next up was a choice between Maldives holidays or Sri Lanka holidays, both involve a plane!
