Every actor should be aware of a few things when they audition for a role. An actor could utilize his or her voice in qualities that may help them get the job.

Being involved in live performances can be the perfect showcase for all of your tools as an actor, in front of an audience. You can guarantee an exciting show for everyone if you know how to put your heart and soul into the character you are playing. Since ancient times men and women have practiced the art of acting; playing the role of a character in a story, for the entertainment of an audience.

Acting schools are the perfect forum to enhance and embrace your desire to become an actor or actress. You can choose from the many programs available in these acting schools, or drama classes, depending on where you wish to make your mark as an actor. A lot of the country’s top fine arts programs have acting classes you can enroll in. Four-year degrees through intensive professional study in acting schools are common, however, some specialized acting schools provide programs that last just weeks.

There are many known myths about the acting industry and casting that many new actors and actresses naively subscribe to. Many agents and casting directors go to these small theaters looking for talent.

By definition an agent is someone who finds work for an actor at a fee of about 10 to 15 percent of whatever the actor earns for a job. Now if you wish to get scheduled for an audition, either you, or your agent would submit your photo, among other credentials to the person in charge of casting. Understanding these issues will make it much easier for you to decide which agent best fits your ambitions and talents. And of course, never forget the all-important concept of research. Casting directors can even refer an agent for you, but nothing beats researching for one yourself. Take some classes, work on some student projects and then keep knocking till you find an acting agent that is genuine.

Come audition day, don’t leave home without your resume and picture, and make sure you have a map to the audition venue and contact information for the point person in case you may lose your way getting there. If you’re a young actor just starting out, you can also audition for graduate or undergraduate programs in your school.

Diving is something that I never really fancied doing before. I always thought that it would be not only quite a risky thing to do but also something that would be a bit boring and although I had seen all of the Bond films before it was not until I purchased the entire collection on DVD a couple of weeks ago that I noticed just how much of a part diving plays in some of the movies and it got me thinking that perhaps I should think about scuba diving holidays after all.

So What Were These Moments?

One of the best moments that made me really consider actually going diving was during one of the Sean Connery outings as Bond in Thunderball. A lot of this film was featured underwater and despite actually most of it being filmed in a studio I was still very much interested in believing that going on a real dive would be something that was well worth my time which would really be great.

one of the really good thing about going diving whilst not being James Bond is that you do not have to take on killer sharks or of course a gang of underwater assassin with harpoon guns, this is always a good thing and will certainly help you out a lot. the great thing is I then went to find a place where diving lessons occurred and booked myself a nice little lesson. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it, in fact so much that I went forward and booked some shark diving out in those Maldives diving locations.

So thanks Mr Bond for giving me a great new hobby to go and try out, I will keep doing this and who would have thought a movie franchise would provide me with a decent hobby to try out!

With the release of Toy Story 3 getting closer and closer it seems a lot of time and effort has been spent outside of the movie and actually on the range of toys that are going to be released during the course of the year.

Superb Marketing

The really clever thing about Toy Story is the fact that it appeals to absolutely everyone in the world no matter how old you are which the fantastic thing about the franchise is. In my opinion Pixar have really gone to town with this film in that they have stuffed as many toys into it as possible, there are the normal characters, the trains so people will buy things like train sets and of course let’s not forget the entire new casting to the movie. Disney and Pixar are very clever indeed.

Not Just Toys

Although the toys are the main focus of the release of this movie it would seem there are also many other things coming too. How about trying video games, posters along with books, this is a huge movie when it comes to merchandise there is no doubt about this. The American charts are already beginning to show that the film is going to be doing very well indeed and I have no doubt in my mind that Europe is going to be the same which is great. The only thing that do not seem to be selling to do with the franchise are RC helicopters however the RC Cars are covered thanks to the loveable character RC.

There is nothing wrong with trying to capture a wide audience when it comes to things like this and if you think it can be successful then why not just do it? I do not know someone that does not like these movies actually, do you?.

Lego Star Wars

There are a lot of people out there that like going to stores and picking out one of those model kits that they like and simply build it and stick it on their shelf but are there many people out there that have all kinds of parts and build them to their liking? Well of course there are and this is what is known as custom model building.

Where Does This Occur?

Well by the looks of things it seems that the industry to use these the most is of course the film industry and this is because they cannot use pre built model kits as it just would not work at all!. Movies would be pretty stupid if they used pre made model kits and this is because you would have a lot of movies featuring the same kinds of models!!

Film companies will often have the opportunity to have access to all kinds of parts and pieces and it is these that they use to put together the massive models featured in movies. Helicopters are created with RC helicopters and the same goes for things like RC aircraft. It is actually very difficult now to be able to tell what is the difference between CGI, real life and model kits whereas back in the day you could really tell they were all models.

There are of course people that do this kind of thing for a bit of fun and this is a great idea. The best examples of these actually come from Hornby train sets and things like this because people build up the sets to go around the track and some of these really do look fantastic.

There are people that collect much of same thing to build up a collection like the video at the top of the post!

Although model kits are not used in movies as much as they used to be, thanks to things like CGI they are still used in things like explosions as they cost a lot less than using CGI technology. It would certainly seem that movies have relied on models for a very long period of time and truth be told they still do today.

If the film is not actually going to be using models for the explosions they may still do a few tests using models instead of wasting money. On ocassions they film something like this and if it is good they keep the scenes with the models as they are cheaper. The fact is that models can look surprisingly realistic nowadays because the technology for making them has improved so much. More often than not you will see RC tanks in the background of many war movies because they are a lot cheaper than using CGI and they look so realistic from a distance.

Of course when it comes to tie in models the film industry makes a lot of money this way and many Scalextric sets have been sold based on movies such as Batman Begins, The Simpsons, Transformers , Spider-Man and of course the classic Knight Rider and people are very much interested in buying those things. This kind of proves that not only to film makers rely on the models to produce the movies but rely on the sales of them to actually make a bit of money from the movie or franchise.

Models are still very important when it comes to shooting a movie and help film makers to see how things are going to work out. This is simply because one thing timed wrong is going to cost millions, testing using models is always a good idea.

Dirty Dancing

This 1987 romantic film is one of the most famous dancing movies of all time and although it had such a low budget it has gone on to make a massive $214 million worldwide as of 2009. This movie was also the very first to sell over a million on video and so many people say it has the most goosebump-inducing dance scene ever. The scenes of this movie were choreographed by Kenny Ortega who is also famous for the next movie on the list.

High School Musical

This was actually a Disney Channel television movie and it was the biggest ever bringing in a massive 7.7 million viewers. Many people actually call the plot to this a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, on the downside they do not drop down dead and there were two more made.

Step Up

The two main actors of this film went on to get married which is always good and this movie made a fortune in its first weekend with $21million being made. Learn to dance lessons must have come in very useful as without this they would not have met, they are not the types to jet off and go on one of those dancing holidays.

Footloose

This is one of the classics being released in 1984 and starring Kevin Bacon it was sure to be a winner. This film actually recieved a lot of negative comments when it was first released but it turned out to be very good indeed.

If you really love all of these movies then why not get out there and take a lesson and get learning?! Book those Torquay hotels and get dancing!

Diving among sharks is something that takes a lot of guts, there is no doubt about that, how about a great white or tiger shark. There are so many locations (fiction of course) where people would not even feel safe in a shark’s cage. So where are these locations?

Amity Island

This fictiousous town had to have a mention really simply because it is the most dangerous place in the world to go diving. Of course there is a huge reason for this and it is because of the shark known as Jaws. This shark is a massive 25 feet long and weighs around 3 tons which means you are certainly going to need a “bigger boat” if this turns up during your shark diving session.

Aquatica

Unfortunately this is not a visit to the Orlando theme park but actually a secret lab in the middle of the ocean containing scientists on a mission to cure Alzheimer’s. The problem with diving in this area is that the sharks here have been given extra brain power so they are faster, smarter and meaner. Not only are there three of these sharks but they are very hard to kill indeed, worse than Jaws. No diving holidays should be spent here.

Kenny The Shark

Kenny the shark is not the type of shark for the dramatic music from John Williams, he is on the list because he is annoying and you would not to be anywhere near him. Not only is his voice annoying but amazingly he was bored of ocean life and decided to see what it would be like on the surface. The best thing to do with this one is throw him back!

In all seriousness, one of the best places to go has to be on one of those Red Sea diving holidays you are in no danger of being eaten alive or annoyed by talking sharks there.

There have been many model animation films over the years and this is not to be confused with the more used stop animation. Model animation is actually a form of stop motion animation but it is out there to push both humans and and animation together. So what are the best ones ever made?

King Kong 1933

It is a pretty well known fact that many directors including Peter Jackson got into the industry because of this film. The model from this film is one of the most famous because the model is worth so much money. It was actually inducted into the United States National Film Registry.

Song of Kong 1933

This one was the direct sequel to the movie and it was released in the same year, amazingly. It would certainly be impossible to do that now, the creators knew the film wouldnt be as good as the first so they turned up the comedy for the second one. It was a success without a doubt and it was combination of both of these films that inspired the 22 Godzilla films.

James and the Giant Peach

This was of course the film that was based upon the 1961 novel by Roald Dahl. Burton was died down by Batman so only acted in as produced while Selick ended up being the director for this film. This film really shows off the power of model animation and just how it can work seamlessly with real life actors. This film met so many good reivews but it never seemed to make a profit.

Bonus Entry

The Nightmare Before Christmas

This one is stop motion which is why it is not included on the main list but I had to include it because in my opinion it is the best stop motion movie of all time and it made around $50 million on its first run and made even more the second time it was released under the Disney name this time rather than the Disney owned touchstone.

For real models check out plastic model kits and for a bit of fun look into RC cars or Remote controlled planes.

There are so many holiday locations to go away too and it not only depends on how much money you have but also how your taste works. There are also many dangerous places that you shouldn’t be travelling too or are at risk if you do in fact travel to them alone.

A Hostel

You all know the movies, you know what could happen if you stay in a Hostel. You need to look out for the early signs, two European women who look pretty awesome will appear to be a bit flirtatious this is way too good to be true. These ladies are only really interested in money and they will lead you to the place where people are being killed. On the positive side you get to fool around with them for a bit? If you notice that some of your friends have suddenly disappeared then you know to get out of there!

Cottages

Just kidnapped your boss’s daughter and trying to get money from him right? Wrong. If you let this carry on you will end up on a nutters farm where all of the people will die around you and you will end up being eaten alive by the carnivorous family of the killer. So all in all you will find your body decomposing in the lovely farm topsoil and mushroom compost in no time at all!

Weird Apartments

Okay do not ever turn into a building that has a broken sign saying vacancy as this is sure to land you in trouble. After a seemingly nice stay you will find tapes of people being murdered on site, only to find it is the owners that are doing it! The best advice to give here, get out.

None of these are very going to happen to you and they are of course based on three brilliant films, Hostel, Vacancy and The cottage.

If you are really interested in somewhere relaxing then look into self catering cottages.
